Britain’s most senior Whitehall watchdog raised new alarms over Brexit today — as Theresa May faced having to rely on Labour MPs to get a departure deal through the Commons. A warning that planes between the UK and EU could be grounded was given to a Commons committee by Sir Amyas Morse, Comptroller and Auditor General of the National Audit Office. He suggested that this could be a risk if talks collapse and Mrs May refuses to sign a £39 billion “divorce” settlement with Brussels.
